Phase 1: Quick Registration

Completing this form helps confirm your interest and enables us to plan the contest to offer the best experience and guidance to everyone. Only one registration per team is necessary.

P.S: Phase 1 registration does not guarantee your participation in the contest. You can proceed directly to Phase 2 even if you did not complete Phase 1. To secure your spot, please register for Phase 2 and submit all required materials by the 14th of February 2026.

14 Jan - 14 Feb 2026

Phase 2: Detailed Registration & Project Submission

Phase 2 opens on January 14th and closes on February 14th. During this time, participants must complete their personal information and submit their final project paper (check the Rules & Regulations below).

Beware if you are a team, you need to register together, so make sure you collect all the information before starting the registration process or organise filling out the form together (recommended).

13-14 Mar 2026

Final Phase: Jury Sessions & Awards Ceremony

On March 13th and 14th, each participant will set up their own booth to present their project to the jury and the public in Luxembourg City. You'll need to prepare a poster summarizing your work beforehand, as it will play a key role in communicating your ideas effectively at your booth.

National Jonk Fuerscher Contest

This contest is organised annually since 1971 by the Fondation Jeunes Scientifiques Luxembourg.
It offers young science & technology enthusiasts the opportunity to exhibit innovative projects they developed themselves. Participants will have the chance to showcase their work to the Luxembourgish public and a jury of experts, which will then enable them to present their projects further in prestigious young scientists competitions and fairs abroad.

Participants should:

  • be aged between 11 and 21 at time of the jury sessions;

  • be residents or citizens of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg or/and be enrolled in a school approved by the Ministry of National Education, Children and Youth;

  • develop a research or innovation project of their choice within the fields of
    natural sciences, social sciences, or technology;

  • submit their work individually or in teams of up to 3 students.
