THE RESULTS OF THE 50TH NATIONAL JONK FUERSCHER CONTEST 2021

On Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 March 2021, 45 participants presented their 31 projects - covering a wide variety of fields such as biology, chemistry, or IT & engineering - to the members of the jury of the 50th national Jonk Fuerscher contest at the Forum Campus Geesseknäppchen.

For this year’s edition, each team was designated a specific time slot to defend their project during a live streamed congress, which was thus virtually accessible from any corner of the world. In addition, the Fondation Jeunes Scientifiques Luxembourg (FJSL) specifically designed a virtual exhibition hall for the young scientists, which has seen over 15.000 visits from 38 countries over the entire duration of the event.

The young scientists, aged between 11 and 21, were awarded prestigious prizes according to their age, their field of study, and the quality of their work. Three new prizes had been added to this year’s list of awards: The Russian Youth Engineering Society will invite a team of our national competition to take part in the virtual “Step Into the Future” Forum, while two other teams will be able to attend the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow for the first time in 2021, thanks to the generous contribution and support from the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development. And finally, the FJSL signed an agreement with the representatives of Huawei for the activity: “A virtual Huawei Technological Experience”.

The FJSL proudly presents the full list of projects to represent the Grand Duchy at international competitions and programmes.
