2022 National Jonk Fuerscher Contest awards Ceremony

On Sunday the 20th of March 2022, 61 young scientists divided into 41 teams received their awards for projects ranging from Biology, Engineering and Medicine to Physics and Humanities as part of the “51st National Jonk Fuerscher Contest”.

Everyone is a winner!

This year, the contest was back at full strength in a format  that allowed young scientists to present their projects and in the presence of the public. FJSL activities promote cooperation and communication for our young science enthusiasts to thrive

Organised by the FJSL, our event saw HRH Prince Guillaume meet our young contestants, along with their friends, families and other science enthusiasts during an open doors event.

Luxembourg’s Prime Minister, Mr. Xavier Bettel and the Minister of the Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development, Mrs. Carole Dieschbourg, joined all the young participants aged 11-21 on stageand in front of a large audience at Forum Geesseknäppchen to reward the projects for their efforts according to their age and the quality of their work. Consequently, the most promising projects will represent Luxembourg in international competitions in the US, Taiwan, at the COP27 in Egypt and at the prestigious European Union Contest for Young Scientists funded by the European Commission. Other awards consists of internships, forums and international scientific activities.

The FJSL proudly presents the 11 projects that have been distinguished by the jury for the most renowned international activities. Please also find below the full list of projects to represent the Grand Duchy at international competitions and programmes.
