Ask your IPCC Representatives! - A Science: next event

The “Ask your IPCC representatives!” conference inaugurates a series of online events allowing our young scientists and the general public to get in touch with some of the leading authorities in the world of science and ask them questions in reaction to important current events.

As part of the Science: Next program designed by the Fondation Jeunes Scientifiques Luxembourg we invite Andrew Ferrone, IPCC representative for Luxembourg, and Dana Lang from the Meteorological Service to answer questions from the public on the latest report which provides an updated global assessment of progress and commitments on climate change mitigation, and examines the sources of global emissions.

The event will be held in English on Thursday, April 14, 2022 starting at 2pm online via the Youtube channel: Jonk Fuerscher

Ask your IPCC representatives!” will bring together Dr. Andrew Ferrone, IPCC Contributor and Representative for Luxembourg and Head of the Meteorological Service of the Luxembourg Ministry of Agriculture, Viticulture and Rural Development; and Ms. Dana Lang, Research Officer of the Luxembourg Meteorological Service.

This live stream Q&A session will focus on the latest IPCC report released on Monday, April 4. While the two previous reports examined the causes and consequences of climate change, this latest report focuses on mitigation, i.e. on what we can do to stop it.

Echoing the projects presented in the 2022 edition of the Jonk Fuerscher competition and the growing number of projects related to climate change, FJSL therefore proposes to support interest in the related research and creative engineering solutions that our participants have deployed to solve some of the specific challenges we will face in the near future.

The public will be invited to participate in this session and ask questions alongside our young researchers via the live stream, all for free!
